Small Business Training provides you with the skills you need to start and run a small business.
You can access accredited training and choose to do a shorter skillset or a longer certificate lll or lV in Entrepreneurship and New Business.

Course duration varies depending on the training chosen.
Format:
Self-paced and online content delivered by a registered RTO.
Objective:
Small Business Training provides individuals with the foundational business skills they may require to run a small business.

Birdifi Bridge will help you choose a qualification that best helps you achieve your small business goals, you can choose from one of the following accredited qualifications:

Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB40320)

Micro Business Skill Set (BSBSS00102)

Small Business Management Skill Set (BSBSS00104)

Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB30220)

New Business Ventures Skill Set (BSBSS00103)
We will enrol you in your chosen course to be delivered by one of our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partners.
Small Business Training is a Services Australia approved activity for a maximum of 8 weeks which fully meets the Mutual Obligation Requirements of Participants receiving activity-tested Income Support Payments. This means that Participants with Mutual Obligation Requirements do not have to undertake activities (such as monthly job search requirements or a Points-Based Activation System requirement) while participating in Small Business Training.

Eligibility:
To be eligible to access Self-Employment Services, you must:

be at least 15 years of age,
-
not be prohibited by law from working in Australia,
-
not be an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia,
-
not be enrolled in full-time secondary education
-
not be an undischarged bankrupt, and
In addition, to be eligible to access Small Business training, you must:
-
not have undergone small business training within the last 12 months, and
-
have a business idea that meets the Business Eligibility Criteria and be capable of operating that business following their completion of Small Business Training, or be an Eligible Business owner of a business that meets the Business Eligibility Criteria.
Participants that have previously accessed Small Business Training are eligible to participate again, however, the Participant’s objectives in accessing Small Business Training again will be discussed and assessed by Birdifi Bridge prior to commencement.
Further, Birdifi Bridge must be comfortable that you are aware of the Self-Employment Assistance Services available to you, you have made an informed decision that this is the service most applicable to you and that you have the capacity and capability to benefit from this service.
Somerset Region Eligibility
To be eligible to receive Self-Employment Assistance from Birdifi Bridge, you must:

live within the Somerset Employment Region*, or
-
have, or propose to have, a business address within the Somerset Employment Region*
*the Somerset Employment Region includes the Brisbane CBD, Caboolture and Kilcoy. You can view a list of suburbs and a map of the region here.
